The edge of the net

The most famous edge is the cutting edge, where productivity issues are being sliced through to increase business profitability, keep spending within budgets and improve personal productivity. But have you thought about what’s on the other side? The other edge is where the internet stops; page not found; you cannot get there from here. The very concept is a maddening affront on human reasoning, problem solving and evolutionary rise of our species on this planet. Sorry, if I just lost the creationists.

Google and Yahoo have helped create the problem by remembering the past as much as finding the present. Sites get redesigned, but pages don’t always die. In the darkness, their ghostly forms move toward that bright ON bit which keeps URLs lingering in the popular search results for some time.
