Microsoft Office in the Cloud

October 22, 2010

Microsoft Office has moved to the cloud. It is going to get in Google’s face in a big way but it is only in Beta. The trial launched in October, in time for my daugther’s birthday, but will not be available to more than a few thousand organizations until 2011.

The stakes are just getting interesting. Everyone loves web-based email for the ease of access, but we also love our fully featured desktop software. Much more than that though is having access to every productivity tool in the Microsoft Office suite. And beyond that, SharePoint, smart phones and all completely integrated for use on the web or offline.

If you would like to sign up for the Beta, visit office365.microsoft.com and be sure to follow the blog too!
